Pierre de Maria (1896 - 1984)
Biography
Pierre de Maria, born in 1896 and died in 1984, was a Franco-Swiss painter who was close to the Surrealist movement, of which he became a member in 1926 without joining the movement.
In 1953 he moved to Nice and began his prolific period known as "machinist", where his immense talent is put at the service of a criticism of the robotization of modern society.
